Charming Chatter giveaway!
http://cottoncharmquilts.typepad.com/charmingchatter/
I spent sometime looking at the site and here are my favorites:
I love the Hushabye Quilt Kit, the FQ Bundle of Boutique by Chez Moi, the Charm Pack, Jelly Roll and Layer Cake of Boutique! Guess you can say I REALLY like Boutique!!! I also would love to make the Stella Blue Quilt Kit by Minnick and Simpson. I love patriotic looking quilts!
My best Christmas memory besides always celebrating Jesus' birth, was 2 years ago when all 6 of our children and our 4 grands and 1 SIL were here with us for 5 days. We all had a great time together and no one got out of sorts or had a fuss. Now that is saying something! There were 14 of us and it was all cool!
Since we all live in different states, this was quite an achievement. Have no idea if that will ever happen again.
Now go on over and check out the giveaway!
Merry Christmas to all,
Carol

Was bored silly at work today, so came home at lunch and got some socks and beads to crochet for one of my DGD's. They are really simple to make and can use so many different colored beads to go with her outfits. I finished one sock and will do the other one tomorrow if there is no work to do.

Not having such a great week. Had some flooding in the basement last night. DH is out of town, of course, and I strained my back while using the wet vacuum. Would really like to get these done soon. Christmas is less than 6 mo. away! Yikes!

Great giveaway
My 2 grand-daughters are here for the week from IL and we are having such a good time together. They are 5 & 8 and love to craft, dressup, play their game boys and even enjoy looking and catching bugs! We went to the library, Hobby Lobby, Taco Bell, and Walmart today. And I even had to work for a few hours.
I was able to make them matching pillowcases Sunday night and have another set to make for them too! Just love making those pillowcases and using fun fabrics.
Off to bed...................not as young as I used to be!!

I have been tagged!
1. I got my first sewing machine, a Ward's Signature, in 1967. My mother is a very good seamstress, but instead of teaching me, she would just take my mistake and fix it. So I taught myself to sew and love it!
2. I bought my second sewing machine in 1975, a Bernina 830. That was like sewing on a Cadillac instead of a Volkswagen!
3. I have lived in IN, MI, CO, FL, IA, MN, OH and TN.
4. We have moved about 25 times in 42 1/2 yrs of marriage. I have lost count.
5. I have a sewing studio and storage space that I love. I am blessed!
6. I am a middle child, an older brother and a younger sister.
7. Quilting and my other hobbies are my therapy!
Off to eat a late supper.

Not much going on..............

Bad, bad blogger............
Two of the ladies were more productive than me, but I completed a windmill quilt top, minus the borders. It took me awhile because of the mistakes I made and had to fix. Also made 120 1/2 sq. triangles for another quilt. Nothing better than spending time with quilt friends and being productive.
Please go on over to www.midohioknitter.blogspot.com and sign up for her Moda scrapbag giveaway! She is one of the designers for the Moda Bakeshop and a good friend of mine. When you enter her giveaway, tell her I sent you.
OK, back to the grind at work! Happy quilting to all.

Postcard Holder
Finally, I have a photo to share. This is a postcard holder that my sister made and gave to me several years ago. The postcards are vintage with postmarks from 1903 and 1908. The third card doesn't have a postmark. The cards are from my Grandfather's sister. Seems that back in the day, it was the thing to send postcards to your friends, even when they lived in the same town. I have several more vintage cards from the same aunt and they are very special to me and the pictures are so fun to look at. There is probably a pattern online somewhere if you would like to make one for yourself.
The weather here today was just great. The Bradford Pear trees are in bloom so I guess spring is here!

Siggy Blocks
Thank you Connie for the fun swap. I enjoyed making the blocks.
Since I need to set my clock ahead, so as not to be late for church, I am ready to close up the sewing studio!
I realize it is much more fun to have a pic to post, but am just too tired tonight to do it.
Good night to all!

First Post
Quilting is my love, besides my family and friends! I have a large stash to work from. But as all good quilters know, we add to it from time to time! I was able to do that on my trip to OH to visit my sister and 4 other quilt friends! When a fabric shop has 50% off of all their fabrics, it is wise to buy. These weren't old fabric either..........charm packs, jelly rolls, layer cakes and yardage from the new fabrics out. It was so much fun to pick some Kaffe Fassette fabrics, that 3 of us split, a little Mary Engelbreit charm with some yardage to go with, and a few other things.
As soon as I am able, I will be adding photos of quilts I have made.
Off to check my blogs that I read and facebook.
